Double shooting in Torrance: 1 dead

An elderly general contractor was killed and his son seriously wounded today when two gunmen walked into their Torrance business and at least one opened fire. Salvatore "Sam" Burrescia, 78, of Long Beach was hit in the chest. He died in the hospital a short time after the 10:50 a.m. shooting at A&A Builders on Sepulveda Boulevard near Pennsylvania Avenue, police and friends said.
