Firefighters called to flooding at an apartment complex in the 28000 block of Western Avenue discovered unknown chemicals in a unit at the Casa Verde Estates.

LAPD, Haz-Mat and the bomb squad were all called to investigate. Residents of the complex were evacuated as a precaution and northbound Western Avenue was shut down.
